Hi, I’m Jennifer

The face behind Mat Hatter’s Muse

After a car accident in August 2014, where I crashed into a Black Angus cow in the dead of night, I turned to art as a form of healing and therapy. Six years later, I made the jump to pursue art as my full-time career. I’m proud to be a self-taught artist and mother of one.

When people ask me about my art, it can be difficult to respond. I pride myself on the detail and depth of emotion on each piece within my abstract style. Art means something different to each person and being able to convey emotion is important to me. When people notice my paintings, they usually comment on how vibrant the colors are – which makes sense, considering my biggest artistic inspirations are nature, NASA images of space and galaxies, and music.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing piano and learning new instruments, gardening and reading – oftentimes with my daughter Kiya.
